I tend to make mine from scratch using inkscape and gimp.
But sometimes I get lazy and manipulate a picture of my own.

Can you...?

blur the sharp lines of the ellipses inside the logo? (with about 10-25px)
Brighten the logo (without loosing the hue) with about 4%
Blur the glow behind the logo with about 7px.
Darken the glow behind the logo with about 4%.

That would be cool.

I would if I could. I seem to not have saved my original svg files.
I could only try to redo it from scratch.

Looks like I found my original svg files.
You can download the file here if you want to give it a go.
open it with inkscape.
make sure you open the layers dialog.

I did the logo thing with a black backdrop. But that looked empty, so I edited Hubble's Detail of SWEEPS ACS/WFC until I got the right effect to replace it.

I did what I said and added a lens-flair. Conker1r's artwork give's a more technical atmosphere, though I think If you like something theatrical, this is definitely an option.

This could be classified as my first try at graphics. I found the Logo on the net and layered it in Gimp and gave it a glow, hope you like it.

Well, Pet, I liked the last two you made also very, very much. I was aiming at letting you know that, but forgot earlier. I find a beautiful balance between colours, letter size and positioning creating a very harmonious whole.
I always have a beautiful picture as desktop so I don't use a graphical wallpaper, but we have no shortage of real quality AB wallpapers!!
Couldn't we make a image gallery somewhere that brings all these designs together, where people can download what they want and the designers present their best creations?
