https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Netifrc

" New users beware: netifrc is powerful and convenient, but using it requires knowledge of the exact system needs; because of its modular approach it requires additional packages to be installed for what many would consider "basic functionality" for home users. The netifrc package can be uninstalled or simply left unused in favor of using another network manager. "

And so the saga continues....  I installed Pam’s and updated through that but netifrc wouldn’t update so I deselected it and ran update without a hitch and when I tried to install it on its own, panache reported an invalid pgp signature

Re: update issues from the most recent iso dated nov 2017 openrc

Are you running

pacman-key --init
pacman-key --populate archlinux
pacman-key --populate artix

If you get stuck updating you can always turn off signing in /etc/pacman.conf

# By default, pacman accepts packages signed by keys that its local keyring
# trusts (see pacman-key and its man page), as well as unsigned packages.
SigLevel    = Required DatabaseOptional
#SigLevel = Never

Simply change run with 'SigLevel = Never' to get system up to date then revert to lines above.

Artix is still evolving, so updating is not always going to go smoothly from time to time. Hopefully this will solve your issue. If not post back and I will try to help.

#LocalFileSigLevel = Optional
#RemoteFileSigLevel = Required

either way, the problem is the same netifrc wont update
