sudo pacman -Syyu does not work SOLVED

Hello!

I just installed ArchBang 240416 i586 to my very old PC. It seems to work reasonable. The installer is the one wich came with the iso-file and was also nice to use.

The first thing I have tried to do is to uppdate/uppgrade the system. As with Debian apt-get. But I did not succeed.

[ukki@archbang ~]$ sudo pacman -Syyu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed to update core (no servers configured for repository)
error: failed to update extra (no servers configured for repository)
error: failed to update community (no servers configured for repository)
openrc-eudev              25.5 KiB   283K/s 00:00 [######################] 100%
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace avahi with openrc-eudev/avahi-nosystemd? [Y/n] y
:: Replace libpulse with openrc-eudev/libpulse-nosystemd? [Y/n] y
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not find database)
[ukki@archbang ~]$

I  am not used with Packman, so some help please,
:0

Take a look at /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and unhash some mirrors close to your location, then run the command again

Re: sudo pacman -Syyu does not work SOLVED

Change it from

## Finland
#Server = http://arch.mirror.far.fi/$repo/os/$arch

to

## Finland
Server = http://arch.mirror.far.fi/$repo/os/$arch

You could even add in ones from Norway and Sweden....

Welcome too ArchBang

Thank you! Everything  worked fine with the server here in Finland.   And was easy for me. Although I am not young and sharp - unfortunately.  smile
