(Solved) Pcmanfm Problems

Hi Archbang Folks
Am new to Archbang and loving it, I am however hoping for a little help.
The trouble is that after editing .config files, copies of these files appear in Pcmanfm, followed by tildes, example:
/home/silure/ArchBang.ctb~~~
What are these and is it safe to delete these files.
Thanks in advance.
Silure
P.S I hope I am posting my problem in the correct section.

Re: (Solved) Pcmanfm Problems

If you're using vim to edit the files it makes a copy with a ~ extension.  You can disable it if you like in .vimrc (I think it's 'set nobackup' but I might be wrong.)

If you recognize them as files you edited then they're safe to delete

Re: (Solved) Pcmanfm Problems

Thanks to Oliver & Mr Green.
I was surprised by your prompt reply to my, possibly silly question.
I have not been using Linux for so long, but thinking about your answers, it now seems obvious that Geany, not Pcmanfm was to blame. (Have never used Geany before)
So checking geany.conf sure enough there was the answer ( no backups)
I have tried a few Distros before ArchBang, but having such a speedy answer to my question makes me think I could be sticking around for a lot longer.
Keep up the good work ArchBang.
Silure.
