Looking for ideas for next release

Need some user input regarding themes, icons for next ArchBang release

Suggestions on gtk2, gtk3 and openbox themes and icons

Personally prefer dark themes but for the sake of live iso do not really mind.

Blue/Green or possibly Grey?

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

How about basically a grey theme with some non obtrusive green accents.
There was a very nice grey theme in the forums recently ( will search for the link later).
For in stance in the OB menu.
Or a nice green nature picture as wall.

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

I like using the Onyx-Black openbox theme. It goes nicely with the Light-Greyness-Black-GTK I found on dA Here

Also, I personally love the KDE4 mouse themes.

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

@Conker1r that is not bad, need to inject a little colour on desktop, maybe with a nature background.

Do I go with Awoken for icons?

Other thing I am interested in is those font like icons for conky give it a more up to date look.

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

I think awoken icons would be gr8 and it can be stripped down to decent size if you delete other options and choose one like awoken dark or light and delete all other variations from the package. Check my OWL Openbox theme and gtk -> HERE maybe it could be what you need...

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

I try very hard to use arch or aur packages for clean installation. Cannot allow 75mb for icons alone...that is valuable space for other applications

Going to check out owl theme

Thanks smile

Is there any chance of creating a more green/blue theme?

Need some advice on trimming the Awoken icons down

There is no rush when you have time. A guide to creating themes would be handy as its a dark art to me

All can be tweaked but let me finish it all before we decide what to change big_smile Think it all fits well with wallpaper, if you resize preview it will lose some quality but ill make you smaller version too...

Oversized images slow down the forum, it you make image smaller and add a link to it....

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

Another subtle green openbox theme: http://box-look.org/content/show.php/Da … tent=66904
in combination with ryo-black-leather, made by our forum member PED: http://box-look.org/content/show.php?content=151467
UYmH3l.jpg

full image link: http://imgur.com/UYmH3

Another nice dark theme with some green hints, bumheadtrois: http://1bumnote.deviantart.com/art/bumh … -175960025
superposed on the some what darker Pixel old skool http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&secti … k#/d24cmo0
Here a screen shot on my desktop:

full image: http://i.imgur.com/0pxLP.jpg

Also ryo-black-leather and bumheadtrois go very nice together.

Even my own madpablo theme goes well with the ryo-black-leather.
I would like to propose to include bumheadtrois, dandilion, pixeloldskool and ryo-black-leather.

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

I find the Zukitwo GTK and Openbox theme visually pleasing. It's grey.

Also, the Adwaita cursor theme would be a good standard one.

I modified Pinux\'s Tux Cursor Theme to add a spinning AB logo for working and busy cursors.

There are 24 and 32 pixels version. Image is 32px.

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … ent=136003

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/?content=133366
(Edit the pic on the link doesnt show much, but trust me Faenza wolfe icons rule tongue)

Re: Looking for ideas for next release

You have to remember that ArchBang needs both gtk2 and gtk3 themes. More to the point file-roller needs gtk3. Icons sets are huge so I am careful which set I use, must say those faenza wolfe do look good smile
