I'm not a huge action movie fan, but I've always loved Predator, especially the interchange with the monster at the end.

"300" had great imagery/effects, but then again I like any Ancient Historical battle movies of any kind.
Die Hard 1 and 2, were a couple of my fav action-thriller's too, although that is going back to late 80's, Willis<--("Yippee Ki Yay, Motherfu__er!") 
Batman -(but only the first one with Jack Nicohlson as the Joker).
Bladerunner -(my all time fav legacy sci-fi action/thriller)
