Can't tty

I have just done a fresh install of Archbang and I can't access tty. I've pressed Ctrl+Alt+F2-F6 and all I get is a blank screen with a blinking white line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

does the bootup screen look right?  I.e. you see messages up until SLIM kicks in (if you're using SLIM)?

Can you do a 'ps -ef | grep tty' and do you see processes for tty2 tty3 tty4 etc

The bootup screen goes through and displays the messages before slim. I checked the processes and the ttys are there. Still can't use tty

maybe try another tty program?  Just guessing here... i.e. if you're using agetty, try mingetty.  You don't need to change every tty, just one for testing (look in /etc/inittab for where it's set)

these are launched from /etc/inittab BTW... so if you did any edits there, double check them
