Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

I don't have an answer but this question looks very much like what someone on the Arch forum reported
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1634420

May be worth keeping an eye on that thread or downgrading anything network related from the previous upgrade

Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

I think it have something to do with the hostname we discussed here but i'm still not sure cause it was not at every boot the same...
I got auto connecting allowing the connection to every user in nm-applet

Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

NM is working (starting) but I have to manually select my network before wireless connects. Could be a permissions thing, polkit or a number of things. Have since removed /etc/hostname to allow OpenRC to set it and for now I have NM working (much, much, much faster than wicd).

Updated isos are coming....

Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

Again no wireless connection.
I also noticed that I can login as root (#su) from the terminal emulator but I was not able to login as root in tty1. Just as user.

glib-networking 2.48.2-1
network-manager-applet 1.2.2-1
networkmanager-consolekit 1.2.2-2
networkmanager-openrc 20160608-1

igor@archigor ~]$ cat /etc/hosts
#
# /etc/hosts: static lookup table for host names
#

#<ip-address>	<hostname.domain.org>	<hostname>
127.0.0.1	localhost.localdomain	archigor
::1		localhost.localdomain	archigor

 # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
::1             localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
ff02::1         ip6-allnodes
ff02::2         ip6-allrouters

# End of file

Login problem comes from the keymap.
How can I permanent change it also for tty?
Please take a look at my /etc/hosts too, do You mean is it ok so?
I am still not sure how it have to look like...

Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

Hosts file looks ok

pacman -Q | grep networkmanager
networkmanager-consolekit 1.2.2-2
networkmanager-openrc 20160609-1
[mrgreen@archbang ~]$

Right keymaps are set in /etc/conf.d/keymaps

Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

With recent updates, arch-openrc now has its own repos and mirrorlist. Isos reflect the fact that development is towards a stable release.

Additions to /etc/pacman.conf

[arch-openrc]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-openrc

[arch-nosystemd]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-openrc

/etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist-openrc

##
## Arch Linux OpenRC repository mirrorlist
## Generated on 2016-06-09
##

Server = http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/archopenrc/$repo/$arch
Server = ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/sourceforge/a/ar/archopenrc/$repo/$arch

You may have to add keys to get above to work they can be found here

Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

Thanks for the info!
Made an update with the new repos but still no connection.
What do You mean about that "mode DORMANT"?

[igor@archigor ~]$ ip link

    link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
2: enp0s25: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN mode DEFAULT group default qlen 1000
    link/ether 8c:73:6e:74:43:1c brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
3: wlp16s0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state UP mode DORMANT group default qlen 1000

Re: No wireless connection after update [solved]

Oh yes!
Power-management issue. Probably some driver problem.
Solved excluding wireless from pm:

[igor@archigor ~]$ sudo nano /etc/pm/config.d/blacklist

and inside:

HOOK_BLACKLIST="wireless"

wlp mode is still DORMANT but it works...
