Beta isos April 2016

This morning uploaded beta isos, theme changes and of course updates to packages.

My goal was to try to remove gtk(N), but kind of failed as it would have meant losing some of the applications that make ArchBang what it is.

Do have a confession to make it seems that issues relating too grub were 'my fault'. While I was doing testing I used a variable to set /boot and /root device, /dev/sda(N). Of course anyone installing to a different drive or partition would of course have a problem. My tests would of course work as use Virtualbox with a single virtual drive (/dev/sda1).

Beta isos can be found here:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/archbang/files/Beta/

Updated minor fixes to abinstall

Re: Beta isos April 2016

tested

boot from usb : ok

tried to launch xcompmgr, well doesn't work correctly.
tried compton : all work properly smile.

tried your install :
please fix line 59 and replace

EFI_MNT="/boot/efi"
    ROOT_MNT=(df | grep -w ${MNT} | awk {'print $1'})
    BOOT_MNT=$(df | grep -w ${MNT} | cut -c1-8)

by

EFI_MNT="/boot/efi"
    ROOT_MNT=$(df | grep -w ${MNT} | awk {'print $1'})
    BOOT_MNT=$(df | grep -w ${MNT} | cut -c1-8)

just an advise, in your functions config_corner change this

config_corner(){
  print_title "CONFIG CORNER"
  print_info "Installer will now open mc to allow user to edit any of the files contained in new system."
  print_info "For example you may want to make changes too mkinitcpio.conf, mirrorlist, pacman.conf"
  pause_function
  mc ${MNT}
}

  pause_function
  arch-chroot ${MNT} /usr/bin/mc
}

Re: Beta isos April 2016

Have found a typo in abinstall (found in /opt/archbang), you need to remove the extra '}' in line 626. Will update isos in the near future.

Tested : archbang-beta-020416-x86_64.iso

Re: Beta isos April 2016

01 - Yes you do need to edit mirrorlist
02 - If installed then you need to run sudo ./opt/archbang/arch-keys
03 - Local guide is in your home folder, or visit http://wiki.archbang.org/index.php?titl … g_Document (I will check source files)

Welcome to ArchBang

Updated isos today hopefully fix for guide and updated packages..

Re: Beta isos April 2016

Why is so difficult to download from sourceforge??
Or maybe is this just my problem?

Re: Beta isos April 2016

Sourceforge can be a problem at some times of the day.... Have stopped 'beta' releases as I am working on summer isos (due early June)
