Crunchbang Linux comes to an end

This morning Crunchbang developer Corenominal, announced his decision to stop developing CrunchBang.
I know a lot of people here used to have Crunchbang on their computers before jumping to Archbang and if I remember correct Archbang itself got a lot of help from the Crunchbang forum on its first steps, so I thought I should share the news here. It's a shame that this distro came to an end, it surely will be missed from a lot of people.

Re: Crunchbang Linux comes to an end

I was about to post this also. I have used it in the past, but I really didn't like the Debian base. sad to see it go.

Re: Crunchbang Linux comes to an end

i didnt like the debian stable base either.  ya you could switch the repos to unstable but what a pain and it always conflicted with the crunch setup.

the crunchbang setup was great though. i loved the theme and the options on it.  its what made me a openbox fan.

i had been wondering for a long time about the project since the last Iso release was almost a couple years ago.  it was another reason i stopped using it.  i know some guys are probably gonna stick with it for a while but i wonder how many are gonna flood over to archbang?

Re: Crunchbang Linux comes to an end

He always was the kindest guy, Corenominal. I got worried when he drove some people, some people that were contributing a lot to the forums and doing  a lot of suggestions away (think it was beginning 2010); well I felt it like that. There was a period that it was becoming a group effort and he made it more personal project again and I always felt sorry about that. It's a big pity that he lets no one or a group of mods take over and continue the project.

This is a real shame. Curious to see what these other projects he mentioned may be.
