Systemd issue

Sorry, fail was the wrong word. It's just too much hassle, I understand.

Ever since journald went crazy on me I've felt the need to go back to openrc.

I need NM because of mobile broadband.......

Re: Systemd issue

Start new thread on journald issue, might get seen rather than hidden in an old dark thread...

Re: Systemd issue

systemd was updated again (again!), and they might've fixed it, we'll see.

Even when systemd is working I get these sudden urges to install openrc now and then.

You can edit /etc/systemd/journald.conf to forward all messages to syslog.

It adds overhead but it's anecdotally negligible and the benefit is you have your files in /var/log

Re: Systemd issue

Thanks Mr. G.

I'm not sure the problem is solvable. When there is a browser crash (rarely now) 1 out of 3 times the system goes into crazy mode. Journald is involved in some cases - growing to 1gb, etc.

Haven't noticed it lately, maybe the latest update fixed systemd.

We don't have to worry about this too much.

Gonna try openrc with consolekit again on the weekend anyway:)
