[Solved] Aur error Md5 check failed

Hi all,

I am trying to install a package from AUR.  I have tried with Packer and manually (makepkg..etc.)  but am getting stuck with this md5 error:

==> Validating source files with md5sums...
    xsc64setup.tar.gz ... FAILED
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
The build failed.

Does anyone know how I can get past this issue?

Thank you

packer will do most of the work of building a package from aur but it will not work if there is a problem with the pkgbuild. Have you checked on aur if there is a problem or pkgbuild is up to date?

Comments, suggestions please feel free to contact me mrgreen(at)archbang(dot)org

What is the package and are there any comments about the problem on the package's AUR page?

The package is Transcribe.  https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=49005
There are no complaints in the comments.  One comment says the download link changed but that is also changed in the PKGBUILD.  If I download the .tar.gz from the source site and check the md5sum it is different then the one in the PKGBUILD.  I was going to try to edit the PKGBUILD but am unsure how to use $Editor,  I don't know what the commands are for saving and am having trouble finding any info on it.  Furthermore I am not sure if that edit will work?

Thank you

Re: [Solved] Aur error Md5 check failed

I found a fix by downloading the tarball and

makepkg -g >> PKGBUILD
makepkg

Re: [Solved] Aur error Md5 check failed

When using packar you can try this:

packer -S --skipinteg <package>

For reference:

packer -h

And don't forget to mark the topic as solved by adding "[solved]" to the title. Cheers!
