I've been on the ArchBang IRC channel doing my best to make it active every since I started using ArchBang for over 2 months ago. My name is WASDx there since WASD was busy.
I used CrunchBang previously. But tried out Arch in a virtualbox and really liked pacman and how daemons were controlled in rc.conf so I decided to switch to ArchBang ![]()
So today I finally decided to register on the forums. I would like to encourage people to use the IRC. I've been the post active user there ever since I joined and helped many new users while making sure the channel stays alive. #archbang on irc.freenode.net. I'm always online there using irssi over ssh on my server. I'm gonna start being active on the forums as well ![]()
I am active in the IRC.

I'll try out irssi then since I haven't used a irc client before.

IRC is a great thing
I prefer it above forums sometimes, hence I waited so long to register. It's also great to have it running on a server so you can follow everything being said.

Now that you are top dog it would be nice to see you and some of the other Archbang leaders join once in a while so we can say hi.

I don't know if there are any leaders around.
But I just would like to add that I never use chat channels.
The way my life is organized, i want to be able to do things as I have the time for something.
My experience with chatting is that it isn't very productive for me and I feel an obligation pretty soon in a way I don't like.

Tend not to use irc unless I really have too, its a dark place!

I tend to agree based on experiences from past years gone by with different distros. I direct 3 language schools, do full-time ministry and am a husband and father. IRC is low on my priority list of things to do in my life especially with a two year old climbing on me while I'm on-line. ![]()

I wouldn't refer to the archbang IRC channel as a dark place (maybe a vacuum though). Not much traffic when I am on. There are occasional questions. Sometimes some miscellaneous social chat (what is wrong with a little social interaction with people that have a common interest?). Not a problem if it does not fit with what you have going on.
